You attract what you are!
We all have heard this a million times. Most of us look for some extraordinary things in life. But what stops us from achieving them is our self-image and the limits that we have put on ourselves.
It is important to realize that we attract what we really are and not what we are looking for. We need to understand this if we want things to change.
Do you also expect some amazing things to happen to you?
Does something always stop it from happening?
What is it that stops you from achieving what you want and being where you wish to be? This invisible barrier might seem out of your reach. However, when you look closely, you will find that the barrier is you and how you perceive yourself.
How to Change It?
So, how can you attract what you really want?
Do you need to change yourself?
Yes, you do! Because you will not attract the things you long for unless you start thinking and acting like someone who has these things.
People have something because they act and believe that way. Thus, if you wish to attract something, you need to find the right people and surround yourself with them. They are the ones who already have these things. Simply put, spend your time around the things that you wish to have, and you will attract them towards yourself.
For example, if you are trying to quit smoking but are still thinking like a smoker, then nothing is going to work no matter how many patches, drugs, hypnosis or cures you may try. On the other hand, all these things will actually work for you when you stop thinking like a smoker.
You need to think and act like the person who has what you desire to attract these things towards you and be that person.
The Law of Attraction
Like attracts like.
People who are self-abandoning and insecure will attract each other. On the other hand, people who value and love themselves will also attract each other. Positive attracts positive and negative attracts negative.
People who are open, positive, secure, caring, kind and giving are never attracted to people who are negative, closed or are in constant need of attention and approval. It is true that no one seeks out this second group of people deliberately, but you will end up with them if this is you.
Every one of us is affected by the law of attraction, whether you believe in its existence or not. Once you understand how this law of attraction works, you will truly understand why and how you attract what you are.
Understand What You Attract
Everyone has certain desires hidden in them. Every time you give attention to any of these desires, you will notice a domino effect. It doesn’t matter if you feel good about these desires or not, you will continue to attract more of these things if you give into just one desire. And soon, that one desire will impact how you think, your present and your future.
Thus, when you understand the experience of having what you want, you will ultimately move towards achieving it. And through your actions, it will be attracted to you at one point in time.
Positive Attracts Positive
When you feel good, you will mostly attract good things. All of this makes one feel even better and, just as we mentioned before, creates a domino effect. Thus, when you have good, positive and constructive thoughts in mind, you are going to attract people who are just like you.
If you have a goal in mind and are determined to achieve it, then you will attract opportunities that will help you reach that goal. It is all about how you are going to perceive the situation and think about it.
Negative Attracts Negative
Just like positive attracts positive, negative also attracts negative. If you feel frustrated and bad all the time, you are going to attract negative things. And, you will end up attracting thoughts and things that will make you feel worse.
If you are not determined about achieving anything, you will attract things and people who will take you even further away from your goal.
Therefore, it is important to pay attention to your feelings and thoughts at all times. Think positive and you will attract positive.
Chase or Attract?
Many of us believe that attracting and chasing something is the same thing, but it is actually not. While they both constitute going after the same things – such as people, dreams, opportunities or any other thing that one believes that they deserve –they are actually very different states with different results.
Chasing, which many consider as an empowering state, is actually depowering. Chasing is synonymous to desperation. We tend to tie our worth to the thing that we are chasing. We believe we have less worth if we are not successful in chasing it. Our sense of self is lost somewhere in chasing. We are not living up to our potential.
We become a flipped magnet that doesn’t attract anything at all.
Attracting, on the other hand, is an empowering state. You are not worried about wanting something but are more focused on improving yourself. Someone’s validation or approval doesn’t mean a lot. All you are trying to do is present the best version of yourself to the world and this is what helps you attract what you want.
By not chasing something we don’t mean that you give up your ambitions to go after your dreams. We are just talking about the right intentions and mindset. It is about where to pull your energies from.
Keep Your Attention Focused on Your Goals
Focusing your attention and struggles on your desires, strengthens the magnetism between you and your goals. It also helps you attract opportunities that will take you close to your desires and goals.
Many times, we are faced with a situation where our thoughts and feelings don’t agree with what we desire. In these cases, you will have to shift your struggles and attention to the ideas and things that match with your goals and desires.
Change how you think and perceive things and you will be able to attract opportunities that will take you towards your goal.
